Chapman Junior Jones, beloved husband, father and Poppy, passed away on July 8, 2020 at the age of 72. Born in Danville, IL on February 21, 1948, he was the second oldest of eleven children born to Chapman and Molly Francis Jones. He married Gail Coleen Gonzalez Bray on Friday, April 13, 1979 at the First Christian Church in Hoopeston, IL.

Chapman served in the U.S. Army and then started his work career with FMC Corp in Hoopeston, IL. He worked first in Maintenance department; then as a service technician travelling worldwide to service FMC equipment; and then as service supervisor. He accepted a transfer from Hoopeston to Madera in 1993 and worked with FMC for 27 years. He later worked at Atwater Canning, SK Foods and Olam Industries with a work career spanning 41 years. He was a hard worker with a strong work ethic. He retired in 2009 due to health issues.

Chapman was implanted with a LVAD – left ventricular assist device – on June 23, 2013 at Community Regional Medical Center. He had just recognized 7 years with the LVAD. The LVAD team was a great support system to him. The LVAD gave him seven more years to enjoy every minute with his Fresno grandchildren who were his pride and joy.

Chapman is survived by his loving wife, Gail; their daughter Emily (Ben) Catron of Fresno and their children – Hailey, Cooper, Brynn and Casey; stepson Johnny (Lindsey) Bray of Springfield, IL; and three children from his previous marriage – Jeremy Jones of Texas; Kelly Brown of Illinois, her children - Kayla, Riley and Olin, and their extended families; and Jennifer Harrison of Illinois and her children - Sierra and Skyler. Chapman is also survived by his mother, Molly Francis of Hoopeston, IL, and six siblings.

Honoring his wishes, Chapman will be cremated. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at 6 PM at Jay Chapel in Madera.
