Yvonne Harding McCarty was born in North Carolina to the Lumbee Tribe on June 5, 1952 and she succumbed to a lengthy illness to be with the Lord on February 3, 2018.

Yvonne grew up in North Carolina and was a proud member of the Lumbee Native American Tribe, and later moved to California where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree and Teaching Credential. Yvonne taught at Madera South High School before retiring. Yvonne loved the opportunity she had to lead the Future Business Leaders of America while teaching.

Yvonne married the love of her life, Kirk Patrick McCarty, in 1994. Yvonne and Kirk were married until Yvonne's death.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her grandson, Justin Stone and survived by her husband, Kirk, four daughters, twelve grandchildren, one great-grandchild with one more on the way.

The Graveside Celebration of Life will be held on February 13th, 2018 at 10:00 am at Arbor Vitae Cemetery in Madera, CA. Mike Stepke, from the Church of Christ in Coarsegold, CA will be officiating the Celebration of Life.
