Obituary for Wilma Van Hoogmoed

Wilhelmina “Wilma” Van Hoogmoed, 96, was reunited with her husband John. She passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 17, 2020. In Madera. Wilma was born July 5, 1923 in Luet, Holland to Johanes and Wilhelmina Leensen Coerwinkel. After she and John met and were married in Holland, they move to California and made Madera their home since 1956.

As a member of the community, Wilma was active at St Joachim Catholic Church, the Legion of Mary as well as the Alter and Rosary Society. She and John were also life members of the Italo-American Club in Madera.

Wilma was preceded by her parents, all her siblings and her husband John in 2006.
She is survived by her children: Albert and his wife Becky of Mobil, AL, John and his wife Patricia, Rick and his wife Lori, Mike and his wife Donna Van Hoogmoed all of Madera. Andrew and his wife Carol of Turlock, CA, Sister Lucille Van Hoogmoed of Boston, MASS., Anna Stewart and her husband Patrick of Los Banos, CA, Mary Van Hoogmoed of Madera, CA, Linda Harrison and her husband Butch of Woodland, CA and Debbie Van Hoogmoed of Madera, CA

With 20 Grandchildren and Numerous Great Grandchildren.

The family would like to make special mention and thanks to Cedar Creek and the Generations unit for their remarkable care given to Wilma.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Jay Chapel.

Private Rosary and Mass will be held.
