William Harrison “Bud” Lyon, age 82 passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017 following a brief illness. Born in Oklahoma Bud and his family moved to California when he was a youngster settling in Madera, where he graduated from Madera High School with the Class of 1954. He later went on to serve in the United States Air Force. Following his military service Bud returned to Madera where he worked as a Typesetter at the Madera Tribune for 40 years before retiring. For the last 20 years Bud resided in Visalia until his recent illness when he moved to be with his daughter in Fresno.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Harold Dean Lyon, Helen Crumley, and Wilma Fae Gravelle, and by his daughter Tammy Williams.
Bud is survived by his daughter Leslie Montelongo and her husband Bob of Fresno, his brother Bill Lyon of Visalia and by 4 grandchildren, Ryan William Brunolli, Ricca Nicole Brunolli, Howard "David"Barlow, John "Zeke" Barlow and 3 great grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 11 AM at Arbor Vitae Cemetery in Madera.
Remembrances may be made to the Donor’s Favorite Charity.
