William Michael Horder

William “Mike” Horder, age 80, of Fresno, passed away on December 29, 2021, at Hinds Hospice in Fresno peacefully in his sleep.  

Mike was born in Madera, California, on November 15, 1941. After graduating from Madera High School, he attended Fresno State, earning a degree in agriculture, and spent his working life designing irrigation systems for farms all over Central California. He was an avid camper, fisherman, and hunter, spending hours discussing these topics with anyone who would listen.  

In 1971, he met and married Charlotte Ann Dougherty of Chowchilla and had two children. They spent 26 years together raising their children until Charlotte’s untimely death in 1997. He reconnected with and married his high school sweetheart Janet De Pasque Brown in December 1999. Mike and Janet were devoted to each other from then until his passing.   

Mike is survived by his wife Janet, his daughter, Richell, and her husband, Jay, his son Michael and his wife Christy, his grandson, Jack, and his stepson, Lewis. 

Mike will be remembered in a memorial service at 11 a.m. on January 22, 2022, at Jay Chapel 1121 Roberts Avenue, Madera, California.
