William L. Cooley

William “Bill” passed away on August 1, 2019 at the age of 87 in Fresno. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. & Grace A. Cooley, his first wife Jaunita Cooley and siblings, Robert M. Cooley, Charles R. Cooley and Nellie M. Begley.

Bill was in the Navy and served in the Korea War in 1951. Upon his return from the service he became a Forester for the US Forest Service. In 1958 Bill joined the Madera County Sheriff’s Office, became a Sergeant and retired after 23 years of service. Bill went to work for PG & E Construction on the Helms/Wishon Project and retired a second time after 15 years.
Bill enjoyed and loved spending time with his family, golf and participating in the Men’s Bible Study and socializing with his former Sheriff’s Office buddies and friends.

Bill is survived by his wife Rosalie, daughter Delthia A. House of Vancouver, WA, brother, John E. Cooley of Yuma, AZ and Grandson William B. Ayres of San Clemente.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 4th Street Church of God, 222 North N Street in Madera, CA at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 7th, 2019.
