Wilbur Sloan, age 79, a native of Stillwater, OK and a resident of Madera, CA for 70 years, passed away Monday, July 10, 2017 at a Madera hospital. He was a retired truck driver for Cherokee Freight where he worked for 50 years and was a veteran in the U.S. Army. Wilbur also loved to fish.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda Sloan Gilleland and grandson, Rick Kempton Parsons.

Wilber is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patsy Sloan of Madera, CA. 1 daughter: Candace Overstreet of Madera, CA; 1 brother: Ken Sloan of Madera, CA and 2 sisters: Emma Bounds-Smith and Melba Ogletree both of Madera, CA. He was also the grandfather of 3 and great-grandfather of 8.

Memorial Services will be on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 11:00 am at Jay Chapel in Madera.
