Obituary for Wanda Kight,
April 12, 1930 – November 25, 2022
Wanda Mae (Morrow) Kight passed away peacefully on November 25, 2022 at 11:14 p.m. She had lived a full and productive life and was ready for a heavenly rest. She was the former director of Madera Cemetery District and was recognized locally and statewide for her work. She was a long-time member of the Fourth Street Church of God and served on the church council there.

She loved traveling with husband, Norman, and met many people in her travels who became life-long friends. She was an amazing cook and loved hosting family and/ or friends for incredible feasts. She loved her family fiercely and was always there for them. After Norman’s death, she became an active part of the community at Cedar Creek Senior Living, where she made new friends and was known for her kindness.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Kight, her son with Norman, Kevin Kight, her first husband, James Cochran, and their daughters, Mari Cochran and Sherri Anderson. She is survived by son, Gary Cochran, and his wife, Karen Mills-Cochran, son-in-law, Mark Anderson, her daughter-in-law, Kimberly Kanzaki-Lasley, grandchildren, Garrett Anderson and his wife, Stephanie, Travis Cochran and his wife, Lori, Emily Elkins-Cochran, Brendan Cochran and his wife, Anna, Kody Kight, Konnor Kight, Kolton Kight, and great grandchildren, Abbey Cochran, Miles Anderson, Jasper Elkins, Warren Elkins, and Kahlan Elkins. She loved them all, and they loved her. She will be missed.

Funeral Services for Wanda will take place at the Fourth Street Church of God, 222 North N Street, Madera, CA, 93637, on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. A reception at the church will follow a short graveside ceremony.
