I'm not talking about Clint Eastwood, I'm talking about Terry John Ashjian. Our cowboy passed away in the comfort of his home on October 4th 2020 in his hometown of Fresno, California just shy of his 80th birthday.
Terry had a deep love for family, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and a good sandwich. Not necessarily in that order. Terry was an ideas guy. He told the best stories and could problem solve just about any mathematical equation off the top of his head. He could always tell you the missing ingredient, show you how to start a business, but most importantly; how to put God first. Terry had many passions: He loved to cook, he loved his friends, he also had this ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Nothing made Terry happier than a family gathering. He firmly believed that family being together often was the secret sauce to being truly successful. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Terry spent a lot of his time sharing his love for the Lord and ministering to others. He was a true patriarch, a man of service, and a guiding light in the world.
Terry was a devoted husband to Donna Jean King Ashjian, the love of his life for 57 years. Terry picked up Donna in a convertible Jaguar in 1963 and the rest is history. Together they have eight children, twenty grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. He wore many hats but Husband, Father, and Grandpa fit best. Terry would often say, "as high as you fly is as low as you fly." No one has ever flown higher.
Terry is also survived by his three siblings that he loved deeply, James Ashjian, Leland Ashjian, and Kathi Andersen.

In Lieu of flowers we are asking anyone who feels compelled to donate to please consider donating to the Armenia Fund to help support Armenia in their crucial time of need. Armenia was very close to Terry's heart and he was very proud to be Armenian and proud to come from the type of strength his Grandparents showed when they survived the Armenian Genocide in 1915.
