It’s with heartfelt sadness that the family of Steve Alvin Upton announces his passing on December 11, 2019, at the age of 62.

As a young child, Steve, was energetic, fun loving with a wild heart for life. He loved rock n roll music and had a passion for classic cars. He was a diehard fan of the San Francisco 49ers and the San Francisco Giants. You’d rarely see him without wearing an article of clothing of his favorite teams.
He married the love of his life at the age of 21, Chris. Together they had two daughters Stephanie and Tara. Together as a family they had it all. They took trips to San Francisco Giant games, Santa Cruz Beach Board Walk and Steve’s favorite the lake. Steve enjoyed the lake. Packing up his boat and jet ski’s and having a day on the water. He loved a great lake lunch and always invited family and friends along. There was always room for one more person. The only thing he loved more than the lake was his grandchildren. Hannah, Garrett, Keagan and Reed. He loved attending all the grandkids activities…. Fresno State games to watch Hannah Cheer, Baseball Games to watch Garrett hit it out of the park, Dance Competitions to watch his tiny dancer Keagan shine on stage and finally watching Reed run the wrong direction playing soccer. He was their biggest fan. And they were his. Steve was proud of his family and everything they did.

Steve worked at Golden Valley Grape Juice and Wine for 21 years. He was the plant Supervisor. He enjoyed his job. He loved riding around in his golf cart, meeting with the truck drivers brining in the load of concentrated grape juice. He was known to adopt a stray dog or two that just so happened to wonder onto the plant. He enjoyed his co-workers and the owners and spent time with them outside work. Working in the wine business was all he knew and he was great at it.

Steve will be lovingly remembered by his wife Chris Upton, Daughter Stephanie Upton, Daughter and Son-in-law Tara and Mike Pickett, Grandchildren, Hannah Molina, Garrett Accardo, Keagan Pickett, Reed Pickett. Brothers Norman Upton, George Upton, Pat Upton, Sisters, Arlene Pisano, Alice Gangbin, Judy Upton, Brother and Sister-in-law Fred and Adrienne Ghelardi and many nieces and nephews, other family members and friends who loved him dearly.

Steve will forever live in us all. He filled each room he was in…….
