Mrs Shirley Ann Montanari

Shirley Ann Montanari of Madera passed away at her home on Thursday morning January 24, 2019 surrounded by her family members, following several years of declining health. Shirley was born in Fresno, California 86 years ago to Bernard and Lydia McDaniel. She was raised in rural Madera County, attending country schools and graduated from Madera Union High School with the Class of 1951. She later attended Fresno City College. Her business career included 25 years in the accounting department of Gottschalks Department Stores, and eventually at Equafax in Fresno handling Medical Records processing. Her later years were spent as a homemaker.

Shirley was married to Resto “Bud” Montanari Jr. for 25 years before his passing in 1985. Bud was the son of Resto Sr. and Ada Stefanelli Montanari members in the Italian Community of Madera.

Shirley is survived by her two sons, Ernie Montanari and his wife Renee of Danville, CA, and Keith Montanari and his wife Sandy of Coarsegold, Ca. She is the sister of Bernie McDaniel and his wife Kathy of Twain Harte, CA. and was the grandmother of 4. Also surviving are extended relatives in the Montanari and Stefanelli families.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 10 AM at Calvary Cemetery in Madera.
