Roy Nelson McCullough Jr

Roy Nelson McCullough Jr. was born on May 23, 1928, in McKinney, Texas. With family by his side, he went to be with his Lord and reunited with his beloved wife, Bonnie, on January 2, 2022. Roy came to know Christ in his 20’s and with guitar in hand, spent the better part of his life singing about Him. Roy loved music like no other. He was a longtime member of Grace Assembly of God Church in Madera. His greatest joy was his family. He was a beloved husband,
father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Roy enlisted in the Navy for two years at the age of 18 and was then drafted into the Army during the Korean War. Roy was a long time Madera resident. He delivered milk to countless Maderans while working for Quality Dairy for over two decades, and retired from Madera Glass Plant.

Roy is preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie McCullough, parents, Roy Sr. and Hattie McCullough, his sisters Joyce Johnson and Grace White, and brothers Jim, Joe, and Ray McCullough.

Roy is survived by his daughter Jolene Palacio and her husband Ernie, his son Rick McCullough and his wife Kim, his son Bret McCullough and his wife Sandra, his daughter Sherisse DeOrian and her husband Sam, and his loving sister Sadie Smith and her husband Bill. Roy is blessed with his grandchildren Shannon Palacioz and her husband Pat, Ashley Carabajal and her husband Jonathan, Preston McCullough and his wife Katie, Addison McCullough, Brittany Guizar and her husband Danny, Bret Roy McCullough, Jake and Kyle DeOrian, and great grandchildren Alyssa, Aidan, and Quentin Geiger, Jianna and Cain Carabajal, Nathan Guizar, and Laney McCullough.

Private graveside services will be held at Arbor Vitae Cemetery in Madera, CA, under the direction of Jay Chapel
