RON LOPES: A man dedicated to honesty, integrity, loyalty, fairness and the highest of ideals.
On the evening of March 29, 2020, Ronnie E Lopes of Oakhurst/Madera went home to be with the Lord at age 80. Ronnie was born to Frank and Edith Lopes in Firebaugh, CA in 1940. Since then he received his bachelor’s degree at Fresno State and pursued his passion of Farming. In February 1963, he married the love of his life Alice and together raised three children, Jeffrey, Nicole and Lesli. He was married to Alice for 57 years.
Ron’s battle with cancer was not only with himself but started early on with their beautiful son Jeffrey. He later lost his Father and Brother to cancer. Even though he saw the fate of what Cancer can do, he did not give up the good fight. He did everything in his power to be with us longer. Ron’s will to live was incredible and it showed until the very end.
Taking care of his family and farming was his true passion. He was well respected by everyone who knew him. He was a man of few words, but when he talked, everyone listened. Ron was known for his gentle spirit, honesty, humbleness, and great presence. His character showed through kindness and good humor until his last breath. For once, he was the one that had to be taken care of, and even though it was so hard for him, he did it with sweet kindness, thankfulness, and grace.
Ron was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey, his father, Frank, his mother, Edith and his brother Eugene. He is survived by his wife, Alice, his 2 children, Nicole and Lesli, his sister Sharon, and 4 grandchildren.
Due to the current circumstances, no services are scheduled at this time.
We will always carry your memory in our hearts and we hope that you enjoy “The Wild Blue Yonder” in your new heavenly body
