Richard Clay Hawkins

     Richard was born in Fresno on October 29, 1950 and died peacefully in his sleep on May 24, 2019. He grew up in Madera and attended St. Joachim's grammar school. He graduated from Madera High in 1968 and received his bachelor's degree from Fresno State earning his teaching credential. His great love in life besides his family was books. He was very well-read. 

     He was preceded in death by his parents Garrett and Marcia Hawkins. He is survived by his sister, Marilyn Langdon (Jim), his brother Craig Hawkins (Amy), his nieces Sarah Goosic ( Matthew) and Cassey Schoening (Darryl), his nephew Jimmy Langdon and John Lorance Jr., and his great nieces and nephews Ava, Trevor, and Gavin Davis and Brek and Wyatt Schoening.

Viewing will be on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 from 12 to 12:30 PM with Recitation of the Rosary at the Rosary at 12:30 PM,  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 PM.  Interment will follow at Arbor Vitae Cemetery.
