Remedios Perez

My mother Maria Remedios Morales Perez, a 53 years plus resident of Madera, passed away peacefully on Friday March 17, 2023, surrounded by family, she was 85 years old. Mom was born to Tomas Morales and Isabel Martinez on September 01, 1937, in Guanajuato, Las Canas, MX.

There she met my father Elpidio Perez Martinez, the love of her life. Together, they moved to Northern MX and finally to the United States in the 1970’s, then brought their children with them and settled in Madera.

In her earlier years, my mother worked as a farm worker and a full-time homemaker attending to her children and later to her grandchildren as well. Mom was such a hard worker, with her unique strong attitude and a fighter all the way to the end. I greatly believe she instilled that spirit in all her children.

After retiring in the late 90’s she helped with her grandchildren and even raised two. In her leisure time she enjoyed gardening, talking to her family, watching TV with dad and an occasional trip to the local casinos.

In addition to her parents, my mother was preceded in death by my father Elpidio, her dearest sister Berna, numerous family members in Mexico and her grandson Oscar “Oscarito” Perez.

My mother is survived by her twelve children Amalia Perez her husband Jose, Maria Perez, Asencion “Ace” Perez his wife Sylvia, Tomas Perez his wife Maria, Jose Remedios Perez his wife Graciela, Isabel Barreras her husband Alfredo, Ricardo Perez his wife Christina, Ma. Esther Pilloud her husband Tom, Daniel Perez his wife Olga, Lourdes Perez, Angelica Saldana her husband Tony, Monica Perez her husband George and she was also the beloved “abuela” to 42 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation at Jay Chapel in Madera, CA, Monday March 27, 2023, 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM and Rosary on Monday March 27 6:00 PM at Jay Chapel.
Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday March 28, 2023, 10:00 AM at St. Joachim Church.

Interment immediately after mass at Calvary Cemetery 28447 Ave. 14 Madera, CA.
