Mrs Ramona Reyes

Ramona Reyes age 91, passed away on September 4, 2022. Ramona went by several names, Mom and Grandma and “Grandma Reyes” (to extended family), but her husband of 70+ years would refer to her as “my queen” and many of her grandchildren took to referring to her as “the queen”.

Ramona was a vibrant and fiercely independent woman. At the age of 91 she still drove herself to have her hair and nails done, to the market and to meetings and celebrations of the X-POW Fresno Chapter of which she remained an active member after her husband’s passing. Ramona loved to entertain family and friends in her home, traveling, shopping and staying active alongside her late husband in clubs/organizations that supported our military.

Ramona & Pasqual married on April 17, 1948. They had four children together, Ronald (USMC 1st Battalion, 9th Marines KIA 03/30/1968), Nancy, Michael and Yvonne. Pasqual had 2 children from a prior marriage, George who Ramona helped raise and Bobby. They had 16 Grandchildren, 54 Great Grandchildren & 11 Great-great Grandchildren.

Ramona was the Matriarch of the Reyes family she will be deeply missed, but will be remembered for her generous heart, love and devotion to family and her quiet strength. She is survived by her daughters Nancy and Yvonne, her sons Michael, George and Bobby, Daughters-in-Law Elaine, Marcia, Gloria , and sister Lillian.
