On Saturday, March 2, 2019, Ramon Andrew Verdin of Biola, a kind brother and a great friend to many, passed away at Saint Agnes Medical Center, surrounded by his family, at the age of 54.
Ramon, known by many as “Ray,” was born on July 13, 1964 to Ramon and Dolores (Orozco) Verdin. Ramon is the sixth of nine siblings. As a child, he grew up in Biola and attended Central High School. Although he enjoyed what Fresno had to offer him, he enjoyed and remained in his hometown.
Ramon was unofficially retired and enjoyed it. He lived out his adventurous side by taking trips to walk the Golden Gate Bridge and a Giants game in San Francisco, China Peak, Santa Cruz, Las Vegas, and Disneyland to name a few. He was a good person, a caring man, a son, a brother, and a great friend that made a huge impact on many lives.
Ramon “Ray” is preceded in death by his mother, Dolores Verdin and an older brother Dennis Baca.
Ramon is survived by his father Ramon, older siblings Victor and his wife Noemi, Jerry and his wife Helen, Jude and his wife Lupe, Bernie and his wife Reiko; younger siblings Greg, Stephanie, and Patrick and his wife Grace. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive him: Christine, Jessica, Natalie and her husband Chris, Cynthia, Andrew, Dennis, Daniel and his wife Lishei, Jeremy, Mark, Sarah, Nathaniel, Nicholas, and Benjamin; 7 great nieces and nephews also survive him: Juliana, Manuel, Aaliyah, Emelina, Johnny, Royce, and Eli.
Visitation will be held at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church in Kerman on Monday, March 11, 2019 at 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm and immediately followed by the prayer of the Rosary.
Funeral services will be held at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church in Kerman on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Fresno Memorial Gardens.
