Peggy Jane Roberts

Peggy Roberts lost her brave brief battle with pancreatic cancer on the morning of Monday, June 10, 2019.

Peggy Jane Jones was born on July 21, 1941, in the small town of Bald Knob, Arkansas. As a girl, she and her family moved to Madera where she attended Madera High School. After she graduated, she married Bob Roberts and had three daughters.

Peggy was into sewing and crafts. She worked in a fabric store and sold her creations in a craft store. She eventually divorced and went to work for the Fresno Police Department in the Court Liaison Office. She worked there for 26 years before retiring in 2018. It seemed like a strange fit at first given her passive nature, but she adapted quickly and made many friends there.
Peggy reconnected with an old friend, Duane Anderson, and they enjoyed many trips together. She even learned to ride horses for the trips to ranches.

Peggy is survived by her two brothers, Ronald Jones and Myron Jones, and her three daughters, Christi Roberts McKinney, Kelly Roberts Chiesa, and Amy Roberts.

She was loved by all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Jay Chapel in Madera. Interment immediately following at Arbor Vitae Cemetery
