Patricia Nanette Turk

Patricia N. “Pat” Turk, 86, a native of Missouri and long-time Chowchilla resident passed away on January 1, 2022 in Madera California. She was born on May 4, 1935 to her parents Charlie Dorris and Nona Smith in Lebanon, Missouri. Early in her childhood, the family moved to Chowchilla, where she attended local schools and was a graduate of Chowchilla High School.

In April of 1968, she married Tom Turk and together they raised three daughters, Cherie, Kim and Darcel. Pat had a very strong passion for sports including golf, softball and bowling. Her greatest passion came to her later in life when she began competing on the Senior Pro Rodeo circuit. She went on to become a ten-time Ribbon Pinning World Champion and she earned recognition in the Senior Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame. She traveled all over the United States and Canada to attend competitions. She worked for sixty years at Schuh Farms in Chowchilla, including three generations of the Schuh family.

Pat is survived by her three daughters, Cherie Smith (Greg) of Clovis, Kim Robinson of Atwater, and Darcel Wood (Danny) of Chowchilla. Six grandsons, Bo Bernardo, Casey Musick, Cale Bernardo, Chad Wood, Dylan Wood and Billy Wood, 18 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charlie Dorris and Nona Smith, her husband of 43 years, Tom Turk, brothers, Charles and Donald Dorris and sister, Dolores Soriano.

A graveside funeral service will be held at the Chowchilla District Cemetery on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.
