Michael (Mike) Hutchings a 49 year resident of Raymond, CA, lifelong cowboy, devoted husband and father passed away unexpectedly while working cattle on October 8, 2017 at the age of 75.

Mike was born in Merced, CA and attended Mariposa High School. Mike served in the Army during the Vietnam War. After serving in the Army, Mike began working for the Raymond Granite Quarry and then joined the Madera County Road Department where after 34 years he retired as District Foreman. Through all of this Mike continued his life-long passion as a cowboy where he was part of the CCA, PRCA and ACTRA Association as a champion saddle bronc, bareback rider and champion team roper. After retirement, Mike followed his passion for ranching and continued raising cattle in the area. Mike also served on the Raymond-Knowles Elementary School board and was a Director on the Madera County Cattleman’s Association.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents Carroll Hutchings and Wilda LaCava; Brother Robin Hutchings. Mike is survived by his wife, Karen Hutchings of 47 years, his children Tricia LeCureux and husband David of Colorado, Charlie Hutchings and wife Autumn of Mariposa; and nephew Spencer Hutchings and wife Monique of Idaho; sister Patrica Hutchings; brothers Dannye (wife Leslie), Warren (wife Doreen), Tim (wife Patty) Hutchings; many nieces and nephews and the most recent light of his life grand-daughters Ashley, Kelsie, Aspen, Kylee, and Mesa.

There was a Celebration of Life held in Raymond, California on October 15, 2017 with no further services to follow.
