Just learning of this January 2. I am very saddened by Mike's passing last August. We grew up together, were in Troop 116, many of same classrooms, ...memories that we shared rarely, and in high school ...as we all were pulled in different directions. For a while in late '70s and early '80s being on Class of 64 reunion committee together. God bless Mickey and family.

Micki and family,
We are so very sorry for your loss. Mike was always such a sincere and genuine friend. We all shared good times and laughs at Madera High.
Micki, you and Mike fit together like a glove and hand.
Our love always,

As we built our home in 2001, Mike was present a lot to assure that the air conditioning & heating system were in right. It was appreciated that he took such an interest in assuring things were done right. It said a lot about Mike as a business person.
My first introduction to Mike happened at the court house while decorating for the Christmas Gala . The downstairs rest rooms where the rooms I chose. One year, I was on the sink putting up decorations, when he moved away from the wall and broke.I will always remember Mike coming up to me and thanking me for braking the sink in the women's restroom. He told me it needed to be replaced, but was glad I was not hurt.( I was never thanked for breaking something!)
As so many people have stated, he will be a big loss to the community, but a bigger loss to your family. May the many happy memories help you get through this difficult time. We are thinking & praying for you.

I met Mike at Fresno State. He was a Freshman and I was a Senior. He was a gifted, talented, and confident young man. He quickly became an important part of the R-TV department, participating in both of our on air broadcasts, as a newscaster on "This Morning in Fresno" that originated in our studio and was beamed across the street to channel 47 and was on the air mornings at 8am. He so impressed me and other upper-classmen that we chose him to run the audio board for the "Comic Section of the Air" which aired on KMJ radio Sunday mornings, not an easy task, with multiple microphones, a sound effects machine and record and playback audio tape machines. He did a great job. He was only a Freshman!
We lost touch after I left school. I had the good fortune of becoming a Film editor in Hollywood, and one day at the post-production house where I was working, I noticed a videotape of a show going to Channel 30 in Fresno. I knew Mike was working there so I wrote him a note and put it in the case. He told me later everyone got a kick out of seeing it.
I got to spend time with Mike just a few months ago when I organized a lunch and a visit to Fresno State to see the studios where we began to learn our craft. Classmates Pat Ogle and Larry Gamble joined us as we recalled the hard work and dedication that was instrumental in all four of us going on to success in the broadcast industry. He later wrote me to say how much he enjoyed the visit.
My condolences to the family.
I know he is being rewarded for being the great person that he was. God Bless.

I will be forever grateful that Mickie and Mike took some time from one of their visits to their son in southern Oregon to come out to Williams and spend the afternoon with us. We were all in the same class at Madera High and we remembered so many funny and crazy things we did and laughed and laughed just like it was all only yesterday. We seemed to remember every single moment of our shared high school experiences. Mickie and Mike were so happy and told us all about their large and loving family and vacations with friends.. I am so sad that was the last time I will see Michael but will have this special memory forever. I love you both forever.

Madera lost a great man with Mike's passing. His contributions to the citizens and organizations in Madera are something to be thankful for and he is definitely irreplaceable. The ethical way that he ran his buisness is something that we can all learn from. My thoughts are with Mickie and the entire family.
