Maura Chavez

Maura Chavez passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at the age of 79. Maura was born in Chihuahua, Mexico on January 15, 1938 to Sara and Juan DeDios Monarrez. She was a resident of Madera, California for the past 24 years, prior to that she lived in San Jose, California. Maura was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Madera. She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and boss. Maura also worked for a cannery until she retired. She was married to Matias Chavez in October of 1960, until his passing in January 2005, a marriage lasting 45 years.

She is survived by her sons, Roberto, Miguel, Josh, Matias, Armando and Jesus Chavez, her daughters, Margarita, Angelica, Sara, Martha, Matiana and Blanca Chavez, her brothers, BerNabe Juarez, Jesus Manuel, Ernesto and Ramon Monarrez, her sisters, Jesus Ana Juarez, Herminia and Fabiana Monarrez. Maura also leaves behind twenty one grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.
