Mary Ellen Rhein

Mary Rhein, age 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 in Madera. Mary was born on July 14, 1923 in Janesville, Wisconsin to John and Ella Nielson. She was a homemaker for over 70 years. Mary’s family was Lutheran and she was raised in the Lutheran Church. Mary loved to spend her time baking for her family and watching the Food Network Channel. She will always be remembered, for never missing an opportunity to send out a card to her family. She never missed a birthday card, anniversary card, and wedding card, Christmas card or Easter Card.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond George Rhein, her four children Donna Agnew, Raymond Rhein, Pattie Madewell and Dean Rhein, and her sister June Wertz.

Mary is survived by her six children Stanley and his wife Antionette Rhein of Bakersfield, Gary and his wife Connie Rhein of Fresno, Douglas and his wife Anita Rhein of Madera, Jeffery Rhein of Los Banos, Amy and her husband Keith Russell of Madera, and Robert and his wife JoAnn Rhein of Los Banos, and her sister Dorothy Babcock of Janesville, WI and her four daughters from a previous marriage, Linda, Norma Jean, Irene, and Gwen.

Mary also leaves behind her beloved 28 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Arbor Vitae Cemetery in Madera.
