It is with great love and sadness we announce that Mary Kay Clark, Age 66, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, November 12, 2023. Mary was a beloved and devoted Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Sister, and Friend. She was born in Poplar Bluff, MO on September 27, 1957 to loving parents, Willis and Norma Clark, who preceded her in death. In 1967, Mary’s parents moved her and her 4 siblings to Madera, CA where they put down roots. Mary was also preceded in death by her great-grandson, Dominic McGuire. She is survived by her two daughters, Terra Tate and Deanna Armstrong-Garcia, sons-in-law, Robert Tate and Frank Garcia, sisters, Sharon Clark and Kristi Thomas (Brad), brothers Willis Clark, and Melford Clark, five grandchildren, a second great-grandchild on the way and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved fiercely.
In her early 20’s, Mary was given the opportunity to work as a bookkeeper for a CPA in Madera. Later, a local rancher convinced her to come work for him and her passion for accounting grew. After many years of working in agricultural accounting she rounded out her career working in the construction industry as a staff accountant for Span Construction & Engineering, in Madera. Mary leaves behind a stellar example of what it means to work hard, have a never give-up attitude, and to have pride in everything you set out to accomplish.
Her talent for cooking and baking blessed our lives beyond measure and she was often encouraged to go into business selling her creations. Some had a favorite recipe or baked good of hers, and it brought her such joy when she was able to make it especially for them from time to time. She also had a passion for naturopathic healing and spent the last 23 years learning how to fix our ailments with natural herbs and vitamins. Many of us have relied on regimens created by her and have been blessed by her knowledge of natural healing. She felt honored to teach anyone willing to learn how to improve their life through natural remedies and positivity.
Mary’s love for her family and friends will leave an everlasting impression on our hearts. She was immensely proud of her grandchildren, nieces and nephews and she endeavored to stay up-to-date and involved in their lives as much as possible. Mary found no greater joy than seeing and experiencing her family being happy and together. She learned from her parents that family is everything, and she carried that legacy on during her lifetime. Mary’s favorite place to be was wherever her family was.
Mary had a special light and she used it to guide us, and to teach us, and she inspired us to be better people. The memory of Mary will forever inspire us to love as deeply as she did. She will be missed more than words can express, and we are grateful for our time with her during our earthly journey.
