Marvin went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 25, with his wife and daughter by his side. Born on November 15, 1933 to Peter and Margaret Schmall where he was raised on a farm in Madera, Ca. He graduated from Madera High in 1951. He went on to Fresno State where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree. He also was a member of the Lambda Chi Fraternity. He met his wife, Jeanne Bendoski, while attending college. They were married after graduating in June 1955. They were married for 66 years. Marvin was drafted into the US Army. He was a medic stationed in Germany for 2 years. Jeanne joined him the last year there. They traveled through Europe whenever possible. After the service, they returned to Madera where Marvin began farming. He was a farmer for more than 60 years. They began their family and raised their son and daughter on the farm. Marvin loved to fish which he did in many states and countries. He also loved to hunt. He was a member of the Madera Elks Lodge. One of his many joys was spending time at their home in Cayucos with family and friends. Marvin will be truly missed by his loving family, who share many wonderful memories of being with him.
He was preceded in death by his loving son, Jeffrey Schmall and his parents, Peter and Margaret Schmall.
He is survived by his wife Jeanne, daughter Kristi and her husband Kevin Sagouspe, daughter-in-law Lisa Schmall, grandchildren Nicole and her husband Allen Mendrin, Jordan Schmall, Joshua Sagouspe, and Ashley Sagouspe, great-granddaughters Ashlynn and Peyton Mendrin and Emma Marck, his sisters Jeanette Shoemate and Diana Carmichael, and his brother Morton Schmall and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Monday, June 7, 2021 at 11:00 am at Fourth Street Church of God in Madera.
