Martha Lee Cookes 
Our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Martha “Marcy” Lee Cookes passed away peacefully at home on March 31st of 2021 at the age of 76, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest as Marcy did. 

Marcy was born to Lee Roger Cookes and Margaret Anne Mugan in Omaha, Nebraska on July 3rd of 1944. She was the eldest of 4 children. She grew up near rivers, lakes, fields, and mountains, which attributed to her love of all nature and animals. She was an amateur gardener and surrounded herself with nature. She loved to cook, sew, crochet, and take on many craft projects. She was an avid reader and was always curious of the world around her. She enjoyed traveling, history and literature. She maintained her keen and inquisitive mind until her death. Her wisdom, creativity, sense of humor, wittiness, strength and loving personality was contagious and an inspiration to everyone around her. 

She had many careers throughout her life, but the most important role that was her greatest pride and joy, was singlehandedly raising her three children, Michael, Diana and late son Daniel. 
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and a friend to many. 

She will be immeasurably missed and forever loved. She is survived by her son Michael and his wife Joy, her daughter Diana and her husband Francisco, her eight grandchildren Adriana and her husband David, Connie, Daniel, Francisco Jr. and his wife Alicia, Wayman, Xander, Troy, Skylar, and her five great-grandchildren, Miabella, Noah, Liam, Emma and Jade.
