Martha Jewel Conley

Martha Conley, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 in Modesto, Ca. Martha was born on December 13, 1932 to Frank and Gladys Evans in Texas. Martha was a resident of Madera for most of her life, where she was a teacher for over 43 years. She taught at Millview Elementary for over 35 years and truly enjoyed her time there. Martha was a long time member of Hull Avenue Church of God in Christ and First Christian Church in Madera. Martha was very active in Bridge Club, the Red Hat Society, Retired Teachers Club, and was an active member of the Garden Club. She was a beloved mother of three, but raised numerous other individuals throughout her life.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband A.C. Conley, her parents, her two brothers Milton Evans and Jerome B. Evans, and her sister Faye Woodward.

Martha is survived by her three daughters Sherri E. Guillory and her husband Alvin Guillory Jr. of Texas, LaShanna Moses of Texas and Amanda Walker of Texas, her brother C.D. Evans of Texas, and her sisters Edrina Davis of Texas, Susie Johns of Texas, Wanda Moses of Texas, and Gladys Williams of Modesto. Martha also leaves behind her beloved six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2020 from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm at Jay Chapel in Madera.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Arbor Vitae Cemetery in Madera.
