Tribute

Marina Luna Padilla passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2021 in Fresno, at the age of 83. She was born on July 31, 1937 in Merced, California to Romolo and Lucinda (Miranda) Luna. Marina was raised in Mexicali Baja, California. She was a long term resident of Madera where she raised her children with her husband, Manuel Marcos Pineida.

Marina worked at Lucas Restaurant, specializing in making Gourmet Salads and Dressings she also worked at Oberti Olives in Madera. Marina was a member of St. Joachim Catholic Church, in 1992 she moved to Fresno where she attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Marina was everyone's favorite person. She always put her family first. Loving and honoring all her children and grandchildren unconditionally and spending time with them especially the babies.  She passed on her strength and showed her family how to be there for each other. This is a great loss to the family. Marina raised most of her grandchildren. She enjoyed dancing Cumbias. Her hobby was crocheting while watching her favorite shows. Marina also loved to cook and pass on her favorite recipes.

Marina was preceded in death: by her parents, Romolo Luna, Lucina Miranda Luna, her first husband-Manuel Pineida Sr., her son, Manuel Pineida Jr, her grandson-Ernest Daniel Pineida, great grandson-Angelo Marcos Pineida Jr., her brothers, Romolo Luna II, Alejandro Luna, Adolfo Luna, Gilberto Luna, Tomas Luna, Conrado Luna, and her sister Gloria Luna.

She is survived by her husband, Angel Padilla of Fresno, her children, Ernest Pineida Sr., Marina Pineida Standridge, Gabriel Pineida Sr., Melissa Pineida, and Gabriel Pineida Padilla. Marina also leaves behind, Thirteen grandchildren, thirty three great grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren, her brother, Alfredo Luna sisters, Amparo Flores, Edith Cortez, nephews/nieces/cousins, too many to list, so many adored her and said she was their favorite tia/cousin. She always was so nice to them growing up and they loved visiting her

Visitation and Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, Visitation will start at 4:00 p.m. and the Rosary 6:00 p.m. at Jay Chapel, Madera, CA

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 15, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Madera, CA
