Marie Estelle Trigueiro was born on May 6, 1942, in Oakland, CA, and passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, in Selma, CA.
At the time of her death, she was still actively working as a bookkeeper and office manager for Loraine Trigueiro Custom Farming and 5T Farms. In addition to her work duties, she chased her most precious possessions on earth, her five grandchildren, anywhere they had something going on. This included school functions, auto races, and basketball, football, baseball, softball, golf, tennis, volleyball, and soccer games to cheer them on with as much pride as one person could have. She spoiled her babies, as she called them, any chance she got with her non-stop 24-hour kitchen fixing anything they desired, her one-on-one shopping trips and any other possible way she could. To see them happy made her happy. Each year, she hosted family gatherings for Easter, Thanksgiving, the Daytona 500, the Indianapolis 500, and the Super Bowl but none were as extravagant as her annual Christmas dinner. Christmas was her favorite time of year highlighted by her lights and decorations that were able to be seen from miles away. Earlier in life, Marie volunteered with American Union Parents Club, American Union 4H and Cub Scouts for her children. As her children grew up, she was not only a staunch supporter in the stands but would host team dinners. As “Nana,” she continued volunteering working snack bars, keeping score, and helping in classrooms. Marie had a great love for auto racing, where she would come to meet her future husband, Larry. She wrote for national racing papers including Racing Wheels and National Speed Sport News while traveling with her brother up and down the state of California. In addition, Marie was chief scorer for USAC on the west coast and for Madera Speedway as well as actively assisting on the racing Board of Directors. When she took time for herself, Marie enjoyed gardening, listening to Elvis, attending the Caruthers Fair, watching her infamous Hallmark movies, cheering on her Oakland Raiders and Golden State Warriors, and watching her favorite NASCAR and INDYCAR drivers, Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart and Davey Hamilton, anytime they were competing.
Marie married the love of her life Larry Trigueiro, Sr. on April 9, 1967, in Fresno, CA. They lived in Fresno before moving to the country between Caruthers and Easton in 1971, where she resided until her death.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Esther Wilkinson; her husband Larry Trigueiro, Sr.; her brother-in-law Bobby Trigueiro; and her sister-in-law Sally Wilkinson.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Larry Jr. and his wife Michele and Colleen Reisdorfer and her husband Scott; her five grandchildren, Brayden, Carson, Katie, Natalie and Morgan; brother Larry Wilkinson of Clearlake; sisters-in-law Loraine Trigueiro and Eileen Dias; brothers-in-law Al Dias and Ron Trigueiro, many loving nieces and nephews; and the numerous “children” and “grandchildren” she took under her wing throughout the years.
