Marian June Preston

Marian June Preston passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the age of 91. Marian was born in Alameda, California on June 4, 1927, to Edwin and Cornielia Sweet. She grew up in Dos Palos where she attended local schools, graduating from Dos Palos High School. During WWII Marian was a Singing Entertainer at Eagle Field. She drove a school bus for Madera Unified School District in the 60’s and 70’s after her retirement from bus driving Marian worked as a Rancher, raising registered shorthorn cattle in Mariposa County. She was a member of St. Joachim Catholic Church and sang in the choir.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Earl Sweet and Cornielia Sarah Sweet, her husband Ray Preston, her three brothers Edwin, Everett and Robert Sweet.

She is survived by, her sons, Jim Johnson and Judy Bright of Le Grand, CA, Dan and Altia Johnson of Smith Valley, NV, Larry and Lynn Johnson of Madera. Marian also leaves behind, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Recitation of the Rosary will be celebrated on Monday, September 24, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. both at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Madera, CA

Interment at White Rock Cemetery, Mariposa County, CA
