Maria dos Anjos Lourenco Espinola

Maria dos Anjos Lourenco Espinola, was born on August 3, 1925 in the village of Porto Judeu de Cima, on the Island of Terceira in the Azores to Jose Lourenco Homen and Maria Mendes Coelho. She later immigrated to the United States. She was a resident of Merced from 1979 until 1992
when she moved to Madera where she was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joachim Catholic Church. She passed away on September 19, 2021 at home surrounded by members of her family.

In addition to her parents Maria was preceded in death by her husband Francisco in 1986 and by a sister and a brother.

She is survived by children, Jose Espinola and his wife Maria of Porterville, CA, Lucelinda Dinis and her husband Frank of Madera, Delina Mello and her husband Jose Mello of Canada, Maria da Silva of Canada, and Anna Rocha and her husband Louis of Merced, CA.

She is the beloved grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Monday, October 4, 2021 from 4 to 6 PM at Jay Chapel, followed by recitation of the Rosary at 6 PM, Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 11 AM at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Madera. Interment will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery in Merced, California.
