Obituary of Maria J. Tristan de Saldivar
Our beloved Maria J. Tristan de Saldivar peacefully passed into the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on April 26, 2021 at the age of 89. Maria was born in 1931 in Coahuila, Mexico to Ramona Tovar de Tristan and Eleuterio Tristan. When she was 25, she met and married the love of her life, Luis H. Saldivar, to whom she was married for 47 years at the time of his passing.
Maria migrated to the United States in 1961 with Luis and their three children where they settled in Madera and raised their family of six. As a homemaker, Maria will be remembered for her loving devotion to her family. She was very proud of her children and their many accomplishments in the community and as followers of our Lord. Some of the fondest memories are the family gatherings at her home sharing in all her wonderful cooking and everyone’s favorite dishes prepared with love.
Maria was an active member of Iglesia Bautista del Calvario for many years. She loved the Lord and lived her life accordingly. One fond memory that will be missed is her blessings she spread over the family whenever they visited. Maria was always known for telling the family as they left her home “Dios Te Bendiga” which some of the older grandchildren have tattooed as a tribute to her legacy.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Luis H. Saldivar.
Our beloved is survived by her six children, Naomi Saldivar-Wyatt; Joe L. Saldivar and his wife Marlen; Dan Saldivar; Esther Gong and her husband Jeff; Solomon Saldivar and his wife Julie; and Liz Saldivar. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, Stephen, Jordan, and Korbyn Wyatt; Joseph Saldivar; Yolanda Mata; Michael Saldivar and his wife Desiree; Sarah and Seth Taylor; Danielle Saldivar and Elizabeth Avila; and Adam and Andrew Saldivar. She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren, Joseph, Isaiah, and Noah Saldivar; Michael, Alexis, and Jeremiah Saldivar; Elijah Salinas, Izabella and Joelsiah Perales; Brooklyn Pretzer and Maxwell Taylor; Antonio Samora, Tatyanna, Kendall, Milania, and Santino Avila, and Skye Balladares; and Gianni Andrade.
Funeral services will be held at Good News Ministries on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at 11:00 am located at 1930 Modoc St., Madera, CA.
