Maria Reyes Costilla

It is with great sadness that the family of Maria Reyes Acuña Costilla announces her passing. Her family and loved ones celebrate her life of 94 years. Maria Reyes Acuña Costilla was born in Sinton, Texas on January 6, 1925 and grew up in Kingsville, Texas. She is the last of seven children to join our heavenly father. She was the mother of 10 children and is lovingly remembered by her surviving children Mary and Armando Moralez, Jose Buentello, Alicia Lucero, Veronica and Alex Moreno, Benjamin Costilla, Graciela Costilla, Julian Costilla and Mariana Coronado, along with her 21 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. 

Maria moved to Madera, California in the year of 1966. She retired at the age of 72 as a nursing assistant. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Lucas and Josefa Acuña, her husband Cirilo Costilla Jr., her son Cirilo Costilla III, her grandson Ricardo Lopez, and daughter in law Josie Buentello. She will be remembered for her incredible strength, her loving smile and her love of music. Her spirit will forever live inside of those who love her, especially her family, as they honor the life of their queen, the heart of their family. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2019 from 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. followed by a Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00P.M. Jay Chapel, Madera, CA. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday August 2, 2019 at 9:00 A.M. at St. Joachim's Church, Madera , CA

Interment to follow at Arbor Vitae Cemetery, Madera, CA
