Obituary Margaret B. Vasquez

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our Auntie Margaret (Barbosa) Vasquez. Margaret attended St. Joachim School and was a graduate of Madera Union High School, class of “55”.

One of her first jobs was at our beloved Snow White Drive Inn. She was a teacher’s aide in Los Banos for a number of years. Margaret always enjoyed her trips to Lake Tahoe and Reno. Her family always came first.

We will miss our Aunt Margaret. She was always soft spoken with kindness toward others. Her Catholic faith was very important to her.

Aunt Margaret was a member of St. Joachim Catholic Church of Madera and past member of Guadalupana Society in Los Banos.

Three years ago, Margaret came home to live with her big sister Emily and family. This was a joy for all of us. She enjoyed many of our numerous family gatherings.

Margaret was survived by her sister Emily Mendez, Nieces Tina Napier/Corky, Elizabeth Hendrickson/Larry, Helen Welch/Todd, and AnnMarie Montano. Great Nephews Jason Napier/Tera and Mark Napier. Great Nieces and Nephews Alisa and Lana Hendrickson, Olivia Welch, Josh and Joseph Montano. Great Niece and Nephew Sophia and Christian Napier. Margaret’s best high school friend Dolores Frost.

Preceded in death by her parents Feliciano and Esperanza Barbosa, her husband Richard Vasquez, siblings Lupe Barbosa, Rudy Barbosa, and Josephine Montano. Brother-in-law Ralph Mendez.

A very special thank you to Antonia Valdez and Roxana Hernandez for their compassionate, caring and loving help to Margaret and to St. Mary’s Hospice for their care and generosity.
