Manuel C Garcia

January 21, 1945 ~ January 26, 2021 (age 76)

Tribute

Manuel Cabrera Garcia was born in 1945 in Zacatecas, Mexico to Paulino Garcia and Isabel Cabrera and was called home to reunite with the love of his life, his parents, grandson, brothers and his loved extended family on January 26, 2021. He lost his mother as an infant and was cared for by several uncles and his beloved aunt, Rafaela Garcia. Life was hard for him but got through it with love in his heart. In 1973 he married the love of his life and they immigrated to Madera. Together they raised three children. Manuel’s family was his pride, he loved them and worked hard in agriculture and cement labor to provide for them.

In 2009, the Lord called his precious wife home and from that moment on, Manuel dedicated his life to his children and grandchildren as well as helping extended family and friends. He volunteered as a driver for Alcoholics Anonymous as well as driving his grandchildren where they needed to be or just to grab a coffee, burger, or ice cream. He loved getting his kids together and going out to eat. Manuel made friends wherever he went and willing to help everyone around him. Manuel’s love was always demonstrated through his actions; he never showed dislike, let alone hate for anyone.

Manuel was preceded in death by his parents, Paulino Garcia and Isabel Cabrera, his wife of 35 years, Hortensia Garcia, his grandson Adrian, and his brothers, Roman Garcia and Juan Garcia.

Manuel is survived by his sons, Osvaldo “Ozzie” and his wife Darlene, and Oscar, as well as his daughter, Angela Isabel and her husband Paul; his grandchildren, Isaac, Alexander, Myka, Abbygail, Genevieve, Jonathan, Ninel, and Freddy, all of Madera. He is also survived by his siblings, Paulin Garcia, Rosemary Mercado, Lupe Ybarra, Virginia Barriga, Henry Garcia, and Esther Torres.

Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, Rosary 10:30 A.M. and Mass, 11:00 A.M. at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Madera, California
