Lydia Lopez, age 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 6, 2019 in Madera, Ca. Lydia was born on December 15, 1924 to Manuel and Carolina Carranza in Arizona. Lydia lived in Madera for 52 years, where she worked as a homemaker and attended the Apostolic Church. Lydia was a hard worker and loved to cook for her family. She made the best food for them, especially her sweet tamales that were amazing. Lydia also enjoyed listening to her Christian music throughout her day. Also she loved her pets; especially her cat Baby and her dog ChaCha. She was a big pet lover.
Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Manuel Lopez, her brother Manuel Carranza, her three sisters Valacha Soto, Trinidad Villa and Frances Montenegro, and her two grandsons Ray Lopez and Carl Smith Jr.
Lydia is survived by her six sons: Procopio and his wife Francis Lopez of San Ysidro, Manuel Lopez of Los Angeles, George Lopez of Lake Elsinore, Edward and his wife Sylvia Lopez of Clovis, Javier and his wife Eva De La Cruz of Clovis, and Gabriel Gutierrez and his wife Manuela of Denver, and her four daughters Livia Guerrero of San Diego, Asalia and her husband Manuel German of Madera, Suzanne Lopez of Madera and Patricia and her husband Henry Barriga of Madera. Lydia also leaves behind 33 grandchildren and 59 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 17, 2019 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Jay Chapel in Madera.
Graveside Services will be held on Monday, June 17, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Arbor Vitae Cemetery, Madera.
