Obituary of Lupe Mayorga-Maciel   

On December 27, 2018 Lupe Amelia Mayorga-Maciel passed away peacefully with her beloved husband Robert Maciel Sr. at her side. Lupe died at the age of 80 years old at her home located at Clovis, CA. Lupe was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Lupe was born in Madera, CA on March 30, 1938 to Pedro and Sofia Mayorga. Lupe was the wife of Robert Maciel Sr. of 60 years. After marrying Robert in Madera, the young couple moved to San Jose where they had their three children Robert Maciel Jr. (Diane), Regina Maciel-Quijano and Rhonda Simpson (Rod). Lupe and Robert also lived in San Martin, CA before retiring in Clovis, CA.

Lupe leaves her grandchildren Robert IV, Sonja, Victor, Sergio, Angela, Roman, Olivia, Braunson, Aubrey, Morét, and Austin. Lupe also had many Great Grandchildren.

Lupe was the sister of Peter (Katie), Porfilio (Annie), Alex (Armida), Joe (Margie), and Adolf Mayorga (Emily).

Lupe enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, and line-dancing. She will be known for her beautiful hand-crafted quilt blankets that she personalized for each of her immediate family members. While her children were young, Lupe sewed most of their school clothes and taught her daughters her creativity of sewing, cooking and baking.

Lupe retired after 20 years from the Franklin McKinley School District of San Jose, California as secretary-typist. Lupe was known for her professionalism and her dedication to her work.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

A recitation of the Rosary beginning at 12:00 pm on Friday, January 4, 2019 with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 1:00 pm at St. Joachim’s Catholic Church, Madera. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Madera, CA
