Tribute

Leo James Lynch, 83, a native and longtime resident of Madera, passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning of Saturday, November 17, 2018. Leo was born in Madera to Dewey and Faye King Lynch. Leo attended local schools graduating from Madera Union High School and later attended Fresno City College. He met the love of his life Edna Parrott and they were married in 1958. He was a man of many talents, Leo had worked for a time with the Raymond Granite Quarry, a cowboy for a time on the Will Gill Ranch, and finally retiring from the Madera County Road Department as a Supervisor in the Mechanic Division for the Heavy Equipment which spanned a career of 35 years with the County. A Texan at heart Leo spoke often of his father’s Texas roots. In his retirement Leo enjoyed meeting his fellow retirees for coffee, where he was a favorite of the waitresses.

In addition to his parents, Leo was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 45 years, Edna Lynch in 2003, and by a daughter Kim Renee Montelongo in 2008.

Leo is survived by his daughter Susie Rogers and her husband Dave of Tollhouse, CA, and by his sister Betty Beaird and her husband John of Madera. He is the cherished “PaPa” to 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Graveside Service will be on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 11 AM at Arbor Vitae Cemetery in Madera.

Remembrances may be made to the Hinds Hospice.
