Mr LeRoy Browning

LeRoy Browning, age 85, passed away July 20, 2022 in Clovis, CA. Roy was born in Sugar City, Idaho September 22, 1936 to Charles Henry Browning and Emma Margaret Hill. He was the oldest of three boys, with younger brothers Ken and Irven. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Roy also served a mission in Montreal Canada for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He married Linda Dee Mayhue June 23, 1961 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They had three children: Stephen LeRoy, Barbara Lin and Julianna Lin. He had a 35-year career as an Enrolled Agent with the Internal Revenue Service, which began in Ogden, UT and ended in Fresno, CA in 1991. After retiring from the IRS, he started his own business Tax Problem Resolution. He loved saying he “switched hands to help people.” Roy and Linda served a mission together in Montreal Quebec, Canada, 2004-2006. Linda died December 21, 2015 after 54 years of marriage. Roy then met and married Marie Taylor, October 1, 2019 in Fresno, California. They enjoyed a short time together until her death in February 2021.

Roy had a great sense of humor and was always willing to tease those around him. He loved nature and especially loved camping and spending time at the beach. He had a deep faith in God and spent many years serving in the temples of the church. Roy enjoyed sharing his testimony and amazing spaghetti with others.

Roy is survived by his brother Ken and his daughters Barbara (Russell) Smith and Julianna (Phillip) Iverson and eight grandchildren: Kailee, Jared (Tiffany), Caden, Samuel, Daemonn, Ian, Timothy and Angel. He is also survived by two great grandchildren: Landon and Nathan.

Services will be held at Jay Chapel (1121 Roberts Ave, Madera, CA 93637), Monday, August 22, 2022 at 9 a.m. Services will also be available on the Jay Chapel website.

Interment will follow at the San Joaquin National Cemetery (32053 West McCabe Rd., Santa Nella, CA 95322).
