Lawrence Joseph Bernardi

Lawrence J. Bernardi, 92 a native and life resident of Madera, Passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021. He was a member of St. Joachim Catholic Church in Madera.

He served his country in the US Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Lawrence worked as an Agriculture Pest Control Advisor, for Western Farm Service for 30 years. He was active in the community in various clubs and organizations. He served as a charter member of BPOE Elks lodge #1918 and in 1969 was voted “Elk of the Year” at the Madera Lodge. Lawrence was a member of the Italo-American Club, VFW Post # 1981 and was a director for Campfire. Lawrence was a strong supporter of the FFA, and will long be remembered for his delicious BBQ chicken and ribs. He thoroughly enjoyed playing Texas Holdem.

Lawrence is survived by his wife of 70 years, Barbara J. Bernardi of Madera, his children Lora Lee Bernardi of Fresno, CA, Carol Gray of Madera, CA, and Diana Bernardi of Fresno, CA. He leaves his grandsons Christopher Bernardi, Shawn Bibb, Travis Gray and his wife Chelsy and James Gray and his wife Sydnie along with a great granddaughter Isla Gray.

Visitation will begin Monday, November 1, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Jay Chapel, followed by a Recitation of the Rosary at 1:00 p.m. also at Jay Chapel.

Graveside service that will begin at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery in Madera.
