Our beautiful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great- great grandmother was called home at the age of 85.
Laura Mae Wilkins was born on July 15, 1935 in Hearn,Texas and passed into eternal life on Friday December 4, 2020 in Chowchilla, California.
Before her life begined she was an RN at Crystal Springs Hospital in San Mateo, CA for 8+ years and an Restaurant owner at 3J's with her sister Louise and later became an employee for City of East Palo Alto for 20+ years. She was an active member of Greaterfriendship Baptist Church for many years. She continued her belief until her last breath. Laura was a retired Homemaker and resident of Chowchilla, California for 20 years . Laura Mae is preceded by her husband Adolf Evans aka Skippy, her daughter Shirley Wilkins, her parents Luchers P.Wilkins, Nelleen R. Wilkins and sisters Bobbie Wright, Ernestine Sullivan. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son Wilburt Wilkins, 8 Grandchildren, 15 Great-grandchildren, 5 Great-Great grandchildren and along with numerous Nieces, Nephews, and close friends.
We are deeply saddened by our loss, but overwhelmed with the joy and the gratitude of our lives that we shared with her. She managed to have a very special relationship with each and every family member. She prayed every night for each and every one of us by our names.
Laura maintained a life long interest in music loved the Blues, reading, gambling, shopping, drinking, and enjoying every moment life has to offer.
Laura loved to fish and go to casino trips everything she got that feeling of Luck. She loved to take rides in her Green Van and play the Blues. Nothing made her happier than preparing a meal for those she loved. She was also known for her dress styles and fashion.
Laura aka Lady B was always the Light to everyone’s tunnel. She kept a warm heart and helping hand no matter what the situation was. She made that sad frown into a Happy frown when she smiled at you and for that we will always cherish your smile and forever have you on our Hearts.
Remembrance and memorial will be held later in February 2021
