Juana Delgado

Juana G. Delgado, resident of Madera, CA for 51 years, passed away on February 5, 2020 at the age of 84 at home surrounded by her family. She was born October 12, 1935 to Ciriaco and Dominga Gomez in Mexico.

Some of Juana’s favorite pastimes included traveling with her husband of 48 years, Manuel, tending to her flower garden and crocheting. She loved to take care of her family, and her children and grandchildren will always remember how wonderful her homemade flour tortillas were!

Juana was preceded in death by her loving husband, Manuel, both parents, sister Delfina Figueroa, son-in-law Arturo Escamilla, and great-grandson Matthew Salinas.

She is survived by two sons: Manuel Delgado, Jr. and his wife Amanda, Martin Delgado and his wife Lupe; four daughters: Julia Serrano and her husband Tony, Marylou Castillo and her husband Gabriel, Maria Escamilla, Janie Garcia and her husband Jerry; 16 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Federico Gomez, and numerous nieces, nephews and Godchildren.

The Delgado family would like to thank Doctor Shobha Sekhon and her staff, Optimal Hospice and all the nurses, medical staff and caregivers for their loving care

A visitation will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2020 from 2:00 – 6:00 PM at Jay Chapel, with the Recitation of the Rosary following at 6:00 PM.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 11:00 AM at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Madera, with Graveside Services following at 1:00 PM at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Fresno.
