Joe Yepiz

Joseph "Joe" R. Yepiz passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at the age of 91. Joe was a resident of Madera for 74 years, he was born in Brawley, CA on December 24, 1929. He worked surveying maps for the City of Madera for 32 years until his retirement on December 31, 1984. After his retirement, Joe owned and operated A-1 Reality and worked as an Independent Surveyor. Joe was a veteran of the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army. He was a Past Commander of the American Legion, Post 11, a member of the Pan-Am Club in Madera, the Y.M.I. and attended St. Joachim Catholic Church in Madera.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife Mary Marquez Yepiz in 2004, his son Rick Yepiz 2012 and his daughter Diana Turpin in 2019.

He is survived by his daughters, Susan L Yepiz-Patchell and Sandra Yepiz Cook, both of Fresno, CA, his daughter, Patricia Cappelluti and her husband Dan of Madera, and his son-in-law, Doug Turpin of Chowchilla, CA. Joe also leaves behind eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, Rosary at 9:00 and Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Madera, CA.

Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joe’s name to the Holy Family Table of St. Joachim Catholic Church.
