On November 3, 2022 it is with great sadness and happiness, that Josemaria Guillen has been reunited in heaven with his beloved wife Maria Guillen. Josemaria was born on February 14, 1936 in a small village in Michoacan, Mexico. At a very young age Josemaria lost his father in a sudden and tragic way. Even though Josemaria did not have a father to show him how to be a father, he took the few lessons of life from his father and passed them on to his 6 children and countless other family members. A Madera resident since 1970, Josemaria worked under the central valley heat as a farm laborer for many decades and just before retirement Josemaria finished his career at a local almond factory where he retired from. As a young man from a small village in Mexico, Josemaria never imagined that one day he would move thousands of miles north and have children with some of them graduating from college, be business owners, serve their country in Navy and Air Force, State Government, manage local businesses and that one day he would travel to England and drive cross-country through many States.
He attended St. Joachim Catholic church on a regular basis. He was a very loving, generous and kind soul, who always went out of his way to the help family and friends.
Josemaria is preceded in death by his beloved wife Maria Guillen and their son Josemaria Guillen Jr.
Josemaria is survived by his 5 children, 26 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren with 3 more on the way.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 14, 2022 from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM with the Recitation of the Rosary beginning at 6:00 PM at Jay Chapel in Madera.
Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 11:00AM at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Madera.
Interment immediately following at Arbor Vitae Cemetery
