Mr Jon Ray Romine

Jon Ray Romine, August 9, 1934 - September 4, 2018, the son of Robert and Lois Romine, he was born in Paul’s Valley, OK, and moved with family to Madera in 1947. Jon graduated Madera High School in 1952. He was enlisted in the Army from 1953-1955.  After his service, he became a heavy equipment operator for the State of CA. Jon met Norma Burgeson in September 1960 and married on July 22, 1961. In 1962 they moved to Northern CA where he became a Teamster and started their family. Jon and family returned to Madera in 1978 to farm walnuts. Jon continued to work as a teamster till he retired in 1995. He served as a deacon in the Clovis church of Christ for thirteen years.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert & Lois, his brother, James and daughter Christina Linn.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Norma, his son, Bob (Wendy) Romine of Lake Isabella, CA, his son Carl (Taylor) Romine of West Haven, UT, his daughter Connie (Jason) Lienau of Clovis, CA, his son Joe (Jennifer) Romine of Madera, CA and his son Wes Romine of San Francisco, CA. Jon also leaves behind, eight grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Services will be held on, Wednesday September 12, 2018, 11:00 AM at Jay Chapel in Madera.
