John Mitchell Rose

John Mitchell Rose, age 87, passed away on Sunday May 23, 2021 in Madera, California. John was born on April 17, 1934 in El Monte, California to John (Jack) Adams Rose and Caroline Elizabeth Fisk. When John was about 9 years old, he moved from El Monte to Madera. John graduated from Madera schools, married his high school sweetheart Virginia Bradford and raised their children in Madera. He was a Civil Engineer for 30 years. John was active for many years with the Mid-Cal sports Car Club and loved tinkering with his bug eyed Sprite. He enjoyed doing artwork using sand blasting on wood and glass for family and friends. After retirement, John and Virginia took numerous RV trips around the U.S. and Mexico and several cruises.

John was preceded in death by his wife Virginia, his parents John and Caroline Rose, his sisters Stella Ann Seratte Espjel, Mary Ellen Ackerman and Carol Jean Haworth.

John is survived by his three children, John and his wife Kathleen Rose of Arizona, Annette and her husband Delbert Morris of Fresno and Donald and Adrianne Rose of Arkansas, his four grandchildren, Neil and his wife Carissa Morris of Colorado, Lisa and her husband Will McCarty of Clovis, Shaun Rose of Arizona and Ashleigh and Pablo Bravo of Texas, his six great grandchildren, Catherine Kurfman, Cassandra Morris, Emily Morris and Heather Morris all of Colorado, Ayiana McCarty, Liam McCarty of Clovis, as well as one great great-granddaughter, Serenity Morris of Colorado. John leaves behind his brother Henry H. Rose of Washington, Brother-in-laws Frank and his wife Jetti Bradford of Madera, David and his wife Lena Bradford of Madera, Charles Meeks of Madera, and Tom Haworth of Maryland and his sister-in-law Geneva and her husband Tony Bennett of Idaho, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 9:00 am to 12 noon at Jay Chapel in Madera.

Graveside Service will be held the same day, Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 1:30 PM in the Arbor at Arbor Vitae Cemetery in Madera.
