John Marquez

John Marquez, age 92, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. John was born on March 28, 1926 in Kansas City, Missouri to Marcos and Maria Marquez. John was raised in Corvallis, Montana, working the fields with his parents and siblings, and served his country in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1947. After moving to Madera, John worked as a Mailman for over 30 years for the United States Postal Service. He was a member of St. Joachim Catholic Church, and was also involved with the Madera American Legion Post 11. John loved to spend time and travel with his family, and he was also an avid bowler. He loved working outdoors and using his tractor to finish projects around his property.
John is preceded in death by his parents, his five brothers and his five sisters.

John is survived by his loving wife of over 66 years, Isabel Marquez of Madera. John also leaves behind his son Tony and his wife Sharon Marquez of Placerville, his two daughters Anita Marquez of Merced and Juanita Marquez of Madera, his sister Ida and her husband Charles Lara of Madera, and his two precious grandchildren Kevin John Marquez and Alyssa Maurine Marquez.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with recitation of the Rosary beginning at 6:00 PM at Jay Chapel, Madera.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Madera.

Interment immediately following at Calvary Cemetery, Madera.
