John De Nava Jr., born in Los Angeles and a longtime resident in Madera, passed into the arms of Jesus Christ, his lord and savior on July 6, 2021 at the age of 70. John, known as Papa John, to his large loving family, loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. John loved to bowl, fish, read the bible, spend time with his family, and visit with friends. John had a big heart and a warm soul. John was a handyman with so many skills, such as mechanics, upholstery, building things, and could fix anything you asked him to. John had a strong faith in God and studied the bible daily. John had such a great sense of humor and always loved to make people laugh.
John is survived by his wife Roxanne Keohouhou-De Nava. His daughters, Julie Perez, Sylvie Flores, Martha Flores, and Allison De Nava. His stepson, Kawika “David” Keohouhou-De Nava. His son-in-laws, Anthony Perez, Richard Flores, and Jerry Flores. His grandchildren, James Garcia II, Robert Gonzales, Kiara Motz, Savanna Alvarez, Lexus Rubalcaba, Marina Flores, Sammuel Flores, Rebekah Flores, Larissa Flores, Abigail Flores, Brayden Flores, and Ariella Moreno. His 19 great-grandchildren. John will be missed by them all.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 11:00 am at Jay Chapel, Madera, CA. Interment to follow at Arbor Vitae Cemetery, Madera, CA.
