Joe Gomez Marmolejo

Joe Gomez Marmolejo passed away Saturday June 20, 2020 at the age 87. Joe was born to Francisco and Anastasia Gomez Marmolejo on March 19, 1933 in Jacksburgh, TX. He worked for Berry Construction for 53 years and retired as a construction Foreman. Joe was a Veteran of the U.S.Army serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post 11 and VFW Post 1981 in Madera. Joe was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling, working and spending time with his family.

Joe is preceded by his wife Rachael, his parents and siblings Benny, Mac, Peter, Eno, Johnny, Matilda and Florence.

He is survived by his son Tim Marmolejo and his wife Shirley of Madera, his daughter Kim Marmolejo Russell and her husband Les of Coarsegold, CA. Joe leaves behind his grandchildren: Michelle, Sarah, Andrew and Amber, along with nine great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.

The family gives a special thank you to Hospice Care, Thang and Carla along with Hand and Hand staff for administering such great care for Joe.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2020 from 2:00 pm -8:00 pm at Jay Chapel.

Funeral Services will begin at 10:00 am Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at Jay Chapel, Madera, CA with interment to follow at Arbor Vitae Cemetery. VFW Honors, will be rendered by VFW Post 1981.

Masks will be required when attending the visitation and funeral services.
