Jennie L. Rodriguez

Jennie L Rodriguez, age 81, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. Jennie was born to John R. Gonzales and Trini Lopez Gonzalez on September 10, 1938 in Madera, Ca.

Jennie attended local schools and graduated from Madera Union High School in 1956. Shortly after graduation, Jennie began her medical field career spanning over 50 years with Doctor Stephan Slepnikoff, Doctor Gary Olsen and Doctor Theodore Nassar.

Jennie truly enjoyed family gatherings and celebrating the holidays. She was kind, loving, giving, organized and very disciplined, thereby lovingly earning the title of “Sargent” by her mother. She will be deeply missed by all.

Jennie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Oscar Rodriguez, her brother Peter Gonzalez, her sister Isabel Avila and Nephew Matthew Valdez.

Jennie is survived by her four sisters Mary Valdez of Madera, Toni Hodson of Bradenton, Florida, Anita and her husband Tony Molina of Madera, and Dolores and her husband Harry Overholster of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Jennie also leaves behind her god-daughter Nicole Stevenson, her god-son Mark Valdez, her nephew Jeffery and his wife Laurie Harris of Sarasota, Florida and their children Steven Harris of Fresno and Chloe and Maya of Sarasota, Florida, as well as her nieces Angelica Avila of Madera, Stephanie Moline of Madera, Jennifer Molina of Madera, Toni Marie and her husband Chuck Swann of Bend, Oregon, and Megan Valdez of Madera.

A Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 9:30 AM and 10:00 AM respectively at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Madera. Interment immediately following at Calvary Cemetery in Madera.
